Off-Campus Access

 What materials are available off-campus?

Most internet-based resources available while on campus are available off campus as well. These include:

  • Databases
  • Ebooks
  • Electronic reserves
  • The online edition of Contexts and Comparisons

Who is allowed to access library resources off-campus?

Access is limited to:

  • Baruch College students enrolled in a degree program ("matriculated" students)
  • Current Baruch faculty and staff
  • PCMH affiliates
  • Members of the CUNY School of Professional Studies community.

To access library resources, all students, Baruch faculty and staff, must use their Baruch usernames and passwords. All others must use their library ID numbers. For more details visit remote access eligibility page.

How do I get remote (off-campus) access?

Go to the databases page, browse or search for a database, and connect to it -- just like you would on campus.

Baruch students, faculty and staff will be prompted to enter their Baruch username and password.  For all other eligible users please enter you library ID number.

If you do not know your Baruch username and password, please proceed to the Baruch username lookup page to retrieve your information. If you are still denied access please call the BCTC helpdesk at (646) 312-1010 for help or go to the BCTC Website for help.

Baruch students and faculty can:

School of Professional Studies students can contact the SPS helpdesk at (212) 652 - 2888.

For those required to use your library ID number and you are having problems authenticating, please contact us through the library technical problems form. Please remember to include all details relating to your problem.

If you can gain access from home but cannot from your place of work, the problem may be the security system ("firewall") your company is using. See the next section for an alternative means of accessing some of the databases.

Are there other ways to access the databases?

Some of the databases are available via the CUNY Office of Library Services. Both students and faculty should use their library identification numbers found on the lower, right corner of your Baruch ID card (the number will start with "21716.")
