The
reserve desk is located at the far southwest corner of floor 2 of the Newman
Library.
Most reserve materials can only be borrowed for two hours for use in the library, while other materials can be borrowed overnight and must be returned by closing time the following day. Students depend upon the availability of reserve materials, therefore there are severe fines for overdue reserve materials.
Books, articles and media assigned as class readings or reference sources can be placed on reserve by faculty members.
Increasingly, course material is being made available online. Students looking for this material should consult the library's Electronic Reserve Service.
Faculty interested in placing material on Electronic Reserve, should consult the Electronic Reserve Guidelines.
While the Newman Library has some textbooks on reserve, these are only a very small portion of those required for courses. A list of those textbooks on reserve is available through the textbooks on reserve page or in paper at the reference desk on the second floor of the library.
Past exams of some courses have been placed on reserve by some instructors. The Library will, where possible, make these exams available via the Newman Library Web pages.
